Observe
THEME:
The perspective of viewing things is not confined to simple oppositions. The world is a multifaceted prism, and the camera serves as an extension of our vision, searching for hidden “punctum” within each frame. The colored frame symbolizes the camera’s viewfinder, inviting the audience to re-examine the often-overlooked details through the process of “observing – reconstructing – representing.” In this reconstruction of perception, a new way of seeing is formed.
STATEMENT:
My work is centered on photography, combined with video and graphic design. I use unique perspectives to tell visual stories, making images a medium for emotions and ideas, not just documentation. I often take an experimental approach, letting visuals interact with space and viewers in new ways.
My focus is on social issues and the relationship between people, society, space, and the self. I hope viewers engage with my work openly, finding their own meaning and connection rather than following fixed interpretations.

Half
THEME:
Our understanding of the self is often incomplete, and the inability to fully grasp one’s identity can lead to a sense of loss. This issue is closely linked to the ideologies that shape us. Starting from Wagner’s concept of Gesamtkunstwerk (total work of art), this project treats the human as a holistic unit, exploring the relationship between the individual half and the whole. Through in-depth analysis of the human as a total art form, the work seeks diverse creative approaches to visually represent the dynamic between parts and the whole. It aims to help people rediscover their “missing half” and return to a sense of completeness.
STATEMENT:
This project explores the connection between the individual and their missing parts through diverse expressions of visuals and space. Using the folding and layering of film frames, it investigates the interplay between the part and the whole. The work is presented in two sections: one juxtaposes human body fragments with animal body fragments, and the other contrasts human body fragments with elements of nature. Through this process, the project aims to offer people an opportunity to rediscover themselves and move toward a sense of wholeness.

UP GRADE CUP
THEME:
In everyday life, taste is often drowned in over-packaging and sensory fatigue. UP GRADE CUP refocuses attention on the structure and layers of coffee itself through a minimal, restrained visual language and lab-like precision. We are committed to carefully selecting beans and precisely controlling flavors to restore coffee’s original essence.
With a rational aesthetic and purposeful simplicity, we create a purer space for taste. This is more than just a cup of coffee — it’s a reconstruction of sensory order: a process of pure, perceptible upgrade. Here, every sip is a recalibration of the taste system and a reawakening of perception.
STATEMENT:
UP GRADE CUP is a coffee brand dedicated to the reconstruction of the taste system. Through a black-and-white minimalist visual language and a restrained, rational approach, we strip away the noise of overpackaged sensory experiences and refocus on the structure, layers, and texture of coffee itself.
From the meticulous selection of raw beans to precise roasting, extraction, and lab-level flavor control, we reject emotional excess and focus on the clarity and controllability of every flavor variable.
Visually, we use whitespace and grid systems to create a sense of perceptible calm, allowing design to become an extension of taste. UP GRADE CUP is an exploration of dimensional upgrade through rationality — a cup of coffee that can be understood, and a path toward purity and heightened sensory awareness.

JOURNEY
THEME:
JOURNEY is a sound card book designed for people with acquired hearing loss. Centered around the concept of “seeing sound,” the project extracts instrumental information from 60 classic songs and reinterprets it through simplified linear notation, transforming music into a visual language.
Color functions as a style recognition system — seven colors represent pop, rock, new age, jazz, folk, classical, and electronic music — allowing auditory information to be extended and identified visually.
When sound can no longer be received through hearing, we explore how melody, rhythm, and structure can be understood through sight. This is an alternative way of perceiving music, enabling people with hearing loss to reconnect with and reinterpret musical information through a different sensory channel.
STATEMENT:
This is a sound system designed to be “seen.”
JOURNEY is presented as a card book, with each page representing a classic song. From each track, we extract the types of instruments used and visualize them through simplified linear notation, creating a clean and intuitive graphic representation.
The cards are designed in a portable 190 × 140 mm size and printed on 260g cotton card stock, offering a durable and tactile experience that encourages repeated use and touch. Seven colors categorize different music genres, allowing users to quickly identify the emotional quality of the music — without relying on language or traditional musical notation.
By combining visual symbols, structured diagrams, and a color-coded system, JOURNEY builds a new pathway for people with hearing loss to connect with music. It transforms the experience from “hearing” to “seeing,” reconstructing how music is perceived between the familiar and the unfamiliar.

1796THEME:
1792 represents the average number of marine animals entangled in plastic waste every year worldwide — 88% of them are endangered species. Plastic pollution is causing irreversible damage to marine ecosystems. Discarded fishing nets, plastic bags, and packaging films have become deadly traps that marine life cannot escape from.
STATEMENT:
1792 is a sound piece themed around ocean conservation, as well as a visual design work about ecology and the environment. The project uses cyanotype, an ancient photographic printing technique, as its main visual language. It combines the forms of plastic waste with the silhouettes of marine life. Through the translation of light and shadow, the structures of plastics are overlaid onto the outlines of animals, creating a sense of “occupation” — visually conveying how marine creatures are encroached upon, wrapped, and trapped by plastic. The packaging applies screen printing, transforming cyanotype imagery into tactile, textured graphic expressions. By reconstructing materials and colliding visual elements, the work invites viewers to reflect on how human behavior impacts marine ecosystems.

How to be a perfect child
THEME:
Based on the ancient text “The Twenty-Four Filial Exemplars”, this project combines my mother’s long-standing expectations and admonitions to create a contemporary reinterpretation — “The New Twenty-Four Filial Exemplars.”
The work is presented in the form of “error cards”, packaged as a children’s career simulation game box. It takes a satirical approach to reflect on the dynamic between my mother and me regarding the concept of filial piety. On one hand, it embodies her desire for me to become a “second version of herself”; on the other hand, it reveals how, growing up in this environment, I have unconsciously internalized her values and roles — gradually becoming part of her, a subtle form of inherited identity.
At the same time, this work also serves as a reminder and resonance for those who share similar experiences — offering understanding and comfort, while encouraging them to recognize their right to choose and the possibility of constructing their own identity.
STATEMENT:
I present 24 filial piety scenes between my mother and me in the form of illustrations. Each illustration includes three parts: a quote that praises the mother, an error answer card, and a diagram to help with answering.
This is an interactive parent-child game box designed for the mother and daughter to complete together. In the game, the daughter fills out multiple-choice questions on the answer cards and then gives them to the mother for correction. The mother provides what she believes are the correct standard answers.
During the process, the mother also assists the daughter in a stamping interaction, where pressure is applied to press the answers onto the card. This action symbolizes the mother’s authority and position of power within the parent-child relationship.
